Royal Vacation

Good morning! Enjoying the quiet before the teenagers wake up… planning out our day. Wondering how excited they will be to learn their days filled with xbox and YouTube are over and they now will have a scheduled curriculum which includes P.E.! Even if it is just for one day… or every now and then.

I see coworkers printing out worksheets for their small children and make lesson plans for their learning… their kids are probably going to be smarter at the end of all this than if they were in school for the rest of the year. Then I pan over to myself … realize my kid (who I will call “D”) has been eating noodles in a cup and playing xbox and … swimming in the pool. Of course he still has his normal daily chores and for the most part they are NOT being done, but he has done laundry and washed dishes. Also, he is the 3rd child and the only one I still have at home… I know with every ounce of my being, from previous experience helping with homework, that any type of homeschooling from me would be a traumatic experience that could potentially take years to recover from (I’m talking about my own recovery).

Anyway, since I am home, I might as well risk it and try to teach these 2 kids something… (the 2nd kid is my nephew and the same age as D)… today for physical education they will be learning about Richard Simmons and Sweatin’ to the Oldies… Fun will be had by all (probably the most by me LOL)

p.s. I am calling this our ‘royal vacation’ because all the other terms being used, such as Corona-cation and Quarantine, are being over-used… ‘Corona’ literally means ‘crown’ and the virus is being called Corona because of the way it looks under a microscope… like it is ‘crowned’…. well….who wears a crown? royalty! so, this is our ‘royal vacation’
